Czech LTTT (LEGO Technic Truck Trial)
Hi! There are some photos from this year's first race Czech LTTT (LEGO Technic Truck Trial). Terrain was very hard and weather too (rain, hail) => much penalty.

Very hard terrain, but i like it!
Why only 6x6 trucks?
THX. Last Year we drive with only 4x4 cars. This year tested only 6x6 cars. What's better? 4x4 or 6x6 - I don't know.TruckeR pisze:Because 6x6 is the best ;-D The track was hard (I wouldn't drive across the mud pit...), but I see that your trucks are very nice ;-) Your Ural is beautiful, I like it very much.
My URAL 4320 is fully 6x6 truck with differential between front axle and rear axles. Differential have pneumatic lock. I use for drive only two minimotors and third minimotor is for steering.
i also like czech trucks... heavy stuff :)
but i'm shocked about you sacrifice (i mean hard track, rain and so on)
peter as i don't speak czech and my understanding is less than poor
(i tried to read your rules) :)
so i don't even try to read forum
please tell me (us) how do you work on rules
how do you create and change rules
i ask because we see you change your trucks year by year

There isn't any clear answer. In harder terrain 6x6 may be better, but the most of 6x6 trucks are longer, than 4x4s, then when you have a lot of curves on the truck, you have a problem with steering the bigger machine.PeterK pisze:What's better? 4x4 or 6x6
I don't like differentials between axles, but I must say this: Ural is beautiful :DPeterK pisze:My URAL 4320 is fully 6x6 truck with differential between front axle and rear axles. Differential have pneumatic lock. I use for drive only two minimotors and third minimotor is for steering.

From the observations in Polish Truck Trial, I say: the more wheels, the better. One more axis means +50% of friction and contact with the ground. 8x8 trucks are very complex, but 6x6 can still be reasonably simple & strong. Also, the length rule Kubrick mentioned, has its exceptions: there are 6x6 vehicles actually shorter than the 4x4 ones. There's a big variety of lengths in both 6x6 and 4x4 trucks, which gives you a chance to find a truck of just the length you need.PeterK pisze:What's better? 4x4 or 6x6

But in practice, the reason why some guys build 4x4 is very simple. For 8x8 or even 6x6, there is a need to have 6 wheels:). Not everybody has enough wheels to build the truck of their dreams:) (Tatra!)
But in my opinion building a good 4x4 riding properly in a heavy terrain is sometimes harder than 6x6.

!smyk pisze:Pixel zemdleje ;)
To trzeba brać z Nich przykład.
